Colouring on Kraft.............

I love colouring on kraft with my pencils, it looks so effective, I made this simple card for my FIL's birthday, I stamped the image in Memento rich cocoa, directly onto a 5x7 kraft card blank, coloured with coloursoft pencils, added a stamped sentiment and little buttons.

Friends of mine have just eloped to Gretna, in their VW camper van their cake was a camper van to so I came up with this card for them

This book has had me thinking

It's a "Smash Book", from EKsuccess and K&Co.

I used to be a scrapbooker then the card's took over and just keeping on top of the birthday cards for friends and family, not to mention everyday stuff (like the job) takes up all my time. I still take loads of photo's but can't remember the last time I printed any! So when I came across this little book the cogs started turning and scrapbooking came to mind, I have seen loads of DIY versions of the book and decided that I don't want off the peg I want mine to be unique but I really like the pen that comes with it, a pen at one end and glue stick at the other, will have to look out for it in the shops they will sell replacement pens I would imagine.

Tonight I'm feeling stressed out, it's my last night of freedom, back to work tomorrow after two weeks off! :( It suddenly dawned on me a couple of years ago that I hate my job, and I mean really hate it, I went to work there 7 years ago in September just temporary until the kids were a little older, well here they are a little older and here I am a lot older trapped in a boring thankless job! I have been job hunting on and off for the last 2 or 3 years, but no luck! Plus people who keep telling me "Well a job is a job" are really starting to get up my nose! Hopefully I will win the lottery and then I can retire!!!lol

Anyway on to my card which i made for my niece before we went on our hols.

You may or may not know I love rock music and heavy metal, I love a good concert and this past Sunday saw Iron Maiden in Sheffield, they were fantastic!!!!

Afterwards we were discussing who we would like to see next and The Red Hot Chili Peppers came up but we were expecting to have to wait a while for them to come, because they haven't been to Sheffield since 2006! :( Anyhow went on the arena listings to see who's coming and you could have knocked me down with a feather the Chili's have just announced a UK tour and Sheffield's on the list! Needless to say I was waiting for the clock to tick over onto 9am to book tickets! :) Totally excited going to see them in November can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I notice I have picked up a couple of new followers, thanks and welcome, I have been a terrible blogger lately so I'm glad to see I still have some readers!!! LOL! I have discovered a great app for my Ipod called craft gawker it's great and you can also view online at http://craftgawker.com/ I absolutely love it.

On to my card I made this for my SIL she loves Tatty Ted.

I made the flower's using a bigz die and hand made paper, I also made the pin using bits from my stash, kraft card and papermania patterned paper, hope you like it.

This is the reply from Carte Blanche regarding the craft products they are retailing through Docrafts and my removed Ebay card. Does not look as though they are going to give us an Angel Policy.

Thank you for your email with regard to your ebay listing. You are correct when you say that the Me to You stamps you purchased are a genuine Carte Blanche product. However purchasing our Me to You stamps does entitle you to create your own cards for your own personal use but it does not entitle you to produce items to then sell for your own commercial gain. We would therefore request that you cease this activity and we recommend that you review the guidance on both eBay and the patents office website.

Today I have well and truly had my wrist slapped by Ebay, I made this card

to sell on Ebay I listed it on Tuesday and today ebay have removed it because Carte Blanche, copyright owner's of Tatty Ted, have said it's not a genuine product, okay so they didn't made the actual card but the stamps I used are their genuine product. I have emailed them, no reply as yet. I've looked into it on Docrafts and apparently they have not agreed an Angel policy with Carte Blanche and it's still pending, I emailed Docraft's and the lady who deals with the Angel policy is away until Monday. Angel Policies should be agreed before the product goes on sale or people get caught out, like I have, assuming it would already be covered by the exsisting Docrafts Angel policy for licensed images. Okay rant over! lol

I have been busy building up a stash of boxed cards and practising making my own paper flowers to go on them. I am hoping to sell some cards and maybe some handmade flowers on Ebay so watch this space. On to my card

On this card I coloured my image with Derwent coloursoft pencils, red card from my stash, gold wrapping paper die cut with Marianne die heart die and swirl, craftwork cards die cut red flower and paper roses made using a flower punch, Daisy D's DP and red spotty paper from My Minds Eye. Sentiment made using whimsy ticket die and matching stamps. Hope you like it, thanks for looking.

Did you remember to put the clocks forward? Spring has officially sprung and it does look very spring-like outside today I love the lighter evenings but I hate messing around with the clocks it upsets my system for at least 2 weeks lol! Dreading dragging the kids out of bed for school tommorow. I think this card has a very spring feel to it so hope you like it.

Trying to Fill up my Card Box

Morning I have been busy trying to fill up my card box it was getting pretty low on standby cards, I crafted most of the day yesterday and made a few cards to put in the box but when it comes to male themed ones I keep coming up blank only managed to make one for the boys! Before I show you what I have made I have noticed I have got a few new followers, who I would like to say welcome to, also don't be shy leave me a comment tell me what you think (I'm not adverse to constructive critism).

I have left some of them without a sentiment so I can add one later depending on the occasion, I have also been colouring in with my new Derwent Coloursoft Pencil which I blend with Sansodor (low odour mineral spirit) I love the results.

Distress Ink Card

I recently posted this card on my Docrafts gallery not really thinking it was anything extraordinary but I have had a great response and have even been asked how I made it so here goes.............

Firstly I cut out a circle with my nesties from ordinary piece of white paper and taped the negative part to the front of a square card blank.

I used a make-up sponge to apply Broken China Distress Ink through the circle onto my card blank. Remove the circle template.

I stamped my butterfly image (Morphic Bug clear stamp set from inkadinkadoo) using Ranger Black Perfect Medium.

I then added colour to my image using Peacock Green Cosmic Shimmer mist and Pearl paint from a cheap kids set, which I bought from The Works.

I hope this is explained properly, it was really simple. My experiment with the Distress Inks was just the shaped background part.

Hi there, I'm back just had a gorgeous weeks holiday at the North East coast a little place called Flamborough it's been fabulous wish I had another week there!

This is the card I made for my niece in July, using the five little fairy images from Mo Manning (well 2 of the 5 anyway) papers and card are from PM, gems from the Works, and the tissue flower was cut using Tattered florals from Tim Holtz.

I have got some more cards I haven't shared yet but I will post those later otherwise this is going to turn into a post of epic proportions! lol!! Anyway onto my FREEBIE, he's called Match Day Mitch I hope you like him, he will be available for about a week so grab him before he disappears!

I have had a go at easel cards they are so cool, I am really pleased how these have turned out. I have also bought myself an Ultimate Pro, so I am hoping to make some different stuff using it, and maybe adapting some of the ideas from the DVD.

3,000 Hits and the new DoCrafts site

Wow amazing, today my counter has rolled over to the 3,000 mark I will have to have some candy me thinks, watch this space..............................! I am loving the new DoCrafts its much more interesting to look at, better set out, cool new features, its just much more.................... I don't know morish! lol!!!! Over the Easter holidays I have been doing some cross stitch, its what started me on the road to being a hardened crafter and I am really enjoying it, I only stopped because my DD couldn't leave it alone when she was a toddler, needles + toddler = disaster! and so the stitching was relegated to the attic, almost forgotten until now, so I've dusted it off and I'm trying to finish off some things I started many moons ago.

At last I have something.............................!!!!

Scrapbook Inspirations Idea Book

Today I popped into W H Smith to get the new Scrapbook Inspirations Idea Book, took me a while but I found it flicked through it, full of nice stuff as I suspected, said book it actually a glorified magazine with a £9.99 price tag, DAYLIGHT ROBBERY!!!!! Future publishing should be ashamed of themselves. I was so disappointed when I found out about the demise of the original mag' then excited to see they would be doing these specials now I am disappointed again I can not justify paying £9.99 for a magazine so I came home empty handed. They will have to come up with something a bit more substantial before I will pay that amount of money.

UPDATE: JUST BEEN ON UKSCRAPPERS FORUM AND IT SEEMS SOME OF THE LADIES THERE AGREE WITH ME ABOUT THE PRICE

Sorry about the poor pictures but had to scan them because no light left for the camera hopefully I will be able to take some better pics of tomorrows entry. Oh and forgot to say yesterday the photo's on my day 1 entry are of our christmas tree a couple of years ago. This is page 2 of my journal, the photo was taken on a wintery November morning this year, I was up early and grabbed my camera to see if I could capture the beautiful colours and was pretty pleased with the results. My journalling goes inside the pocket which is the left hand page.
